How to Give

Life insurance beneficiary gift

A gift of life insurance for VCU

There are two ways to support VCU with a gift of life insurance.

  1. Name VCU as beneficiary of your life insurance policy. This simple gift can be completed by updating your beneficiary information with your policy provider.
  2. Transfer ownership of a paid-up life insurance policy to VCU or, take out a new policy that names VCU as owner and sole beneficiary. Receive a charitable deduction for your annual gifts to cover policy premiums.

Not all life insurance policies are appropriate for both types of gifts. To learn more, contact PAMELA COLKER, J.D., Executive Director of Planned Giving, Monroe Park Campus, at (804) 827-2376 or colkerp@vcu.edu
